Soulward Terms of Use

These terms are an agreement between you and Soulward ("we"). By using Soulward you accept them and the privacy policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

1. What Soulward is

Soulward is a healthy-lifestyle and self-help app: a habit tracker, journal, reminders, educational content, a community and an AI companion. It is intended to help maintain healthy habits and is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, mitigate or prevent any disease or disorder.

Soulward is not a medical device and not a medical, psychological or psychotherapy service. We are not doctors, psychologists or therapists. Neither the app nor the assistant diagnoses, prescribes or stops treatment or medication, provides therapy, or replaces a professional, support group, treatment program or emergency care.

2. AI assistant

• The assistant is computer software, not a person and not a professional. It can make mistakes, misunderstand you, or give an incomplete answer or one that is not right for you.
• Its replies are general information and support, not medical, psychological, legal or other professional advice.
• Do not make decisions about your health, medication, withdrawal, treatment or safety based only on its replies. Stopping alcohol, benzodiazepines and some other substances abruptly can be life-threatening; make such decisions with a doctor.
• To answer you, your messages and relevant profile details are sent to a third-party AI provider as described in the privacy policy.

3. Emergencies

Soulward is not an emergency service and does not monitor you in real time. No human reads your messages in order to intervene. If you or someone near you is in danger, has thoughts of suicide or shows signs of overdose, call emergency services now (911 or 988 in the US, 112 in Europe). How the assistant responds to crisis messages is described in our safety protocol.

4. No guarantees

We do not promise or guarantee any outcome, including abstinence, sobriety, absence of relapse, or improved wellbeing or health. Recovery depends on many factors outside our control. The app is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, uninterrupted operation, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

5. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Soulward and its founders, staff and partners are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for harm to health, relapse, lost profits or lost data arising from use of the app, assistant replies, community content or inability to use the app. Where liability cannot be excluded, it is limited to the amount you paid us in the previous 12 months or, if you paid nothing, 50 US dollars. Some laws do not allow these limitations; they then apply only as far as the law permits and do not limit rights that cannot be waived.

6. Who can use it

The app is only for people aged 18 and over. By giving consent you confirm you are 18 or older. The app is not intended for people who need urgent medical or psychiatric care right now.

7. Your responsibilities

• You decide how to use the app and whether to follow its suggestions.
• Do not use the app to harm yourself or others, to obtain or sell illegal substances, or to break the law.
• Do not try to bypass the assistant's limits, access other people's data or internal systems, or overload or attack the service.
• Do not share other people's personal data in the app without their consent.

8. Community

• Community posts are written by users. We do not pre-screen them and are not responsible for their content. Advice from other users is their personal experience, not professional advice.
• Not allowed: harassment, threats, discrimination, sexual content, encouraging self-harm, buying or selling substances, ads, spam, other people's personal data.
• Any post can be reported. We may hide or remove posts and restrict a user's access without notice. We review reports as quickly as possible; a post reported by several people is hidden automatically.
• By posting you give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to show your post to other users in the app.

9. Close-person connection

If you connect a close person, they receive only the alerts you agreed to. We do not guarantee that an alert will be delivered or read in time, and a close person does not replace emergency services.

10. Subscriptions and payment

If paid features are offered, payment, renewal and refunds are handled by the App Store under Apple's rules. You can cancel in your Apple ID settings.

11. Intellectual property

The app, texts, lessons, design and logo belong to Soulward. We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the app for yourself. Your own entries remain yours.

12. Indemnity

If you break these terms or the law and a claim is made against us as a result, you will cover our related losses to the extent permitted by law.

13. Termination

You can delete your account at any time in settings. We may suspend or end access if these terms are broken or if the service can no longer be operated. Sections 1–5, 7, 12 and 14 survive termination.

14. Changes, law and disputes

We may update the app and these terms. We will notify you in the app about material changes and ask for consent again if they concern data sharing or AI. These terms are governed by the law of the country where Soulward is registered, unless the law of your country requires otherwise. Please contact support@soulward.app first; we will try to resolve the issue within 30 days. If any provision is found invalid, the rest remain in effect.
